Lecture and debate about "Economic crisis in Spain. New roles in the architectural field." Since 2008, architects have more or less been forced to rethink their practice and role, in order to continuously provide answers to a new and ever-changing situation. In the current Spanish economic and political climate, there is a new type of "architects" through so-called 'colectivos'. These collectives are several professions closely together. Architects, geographers, sociologists, lawyers, etc. working together at an early stage to identify and resolve projects and raising funds to work on these projects. This has created a new type of projects in small and large scale. It consistently is that the opportunities for which they are incurred as a result of the crisis. The crisis has created a strong team spirit, allowing to develop projects largely based on the concept of 'unsolicited architecture' and originates from the philosophy around DIY (Do It Yourself), Diwo (Do It With Others), adhocracy, and Bottom-up.

Introduction by Ethel Baraona Pohl, publisher (DPR Barcelona) and curator based in Barcelona.
